Sharing Best Practices and InnovationsSince its inception the MCPSA has worked to share the best practices and innovations of Massachusetts charter public schools. The following resources are the results of MCPSA projects and collaborations with Massachusetts charter public schools. MA Charter Public Schools Best Practices: Through the former MCPSA Fellowship Program and a U.S. Department of Education Grant, the MCPSA provided funding to MA charter public schools to document best practices in two areas; Administration & Teaching and Whole School Models. To search the database and view documents, click on the following topic link or use the navigation bar on the upper right. Administration & Teaching or Whole School Models. Keeping the Promise: the Massachusetts Charter School Dissemination and Replication Project (KTP): Funded by a 3-year federal grant the MCPSA identified and studied five high-performing urban charter public schools. Papers, research findings, a film and study tours were produced to meet the goal of documentation, dissemination and replication of critical and common practices in high performing urban charter schools. Follow this link to learn more about the research findings and film (including where to order) and view the papers produced. Expanded Learning Time: The MCPSA is collaborating with Boston Preparatory Charter Public School on a MA DESE-funded dissemination grant, Expanded Learning Time: Making Every Minute Matter. In collaboration with eight other charter schools offering expanded learning time, the project offers study tours and has produced a research document profiling the schools and their practices.
